Fresh Food For The Frontline
To provide our NHS heroes, who work long stressful shifts on Covid19 Wards, with a healthy weekly food box, to save them time and make their lives easier, so they can look after us during one of our country's greatest challenges!
Support the People Who Support Us
In addition, we also provide food boxes to the vulnerable in our communities
Fresh Food for the Frontline working under the St. Barnabas Church Charity, based in Kensington and Chelsea, is a community support charity, delivering fresh food boxes to the critical care staff at our local hospitals. These heroes work long stressful shifts, risking their lives every day, and struggle to get the time to buy fresh food. We are also supporting the vulnerable in our community.
Fresh Food for the Frontline are sourcing food boxes from farms in the Cotswolds, and will include: fruit, vegetables, bread, milk and eggs, providing the recipients with healthy food basics for the most of their week.
Distribution will be handled in 2 ways, the first, via direct delivery to the Administration Departments at the hospitals and the second via a distribution center at St Barnabas Church, who, working with the church volunteers and the Corona Virus Support Group, https://coronavirus-support-group.co.uk/ ) a locally focused mutual-aid network (now active throughout the UK), will deliver the food boxes to those that need it most.
'Thank you for our delivery of goodies to the Intensive Care unit at the Great Western Hospital in Swindon! We really appreciate all the donations and after a long shift in full PPE it’s so lovely to take home fresh food without the stress of shopping and running low at home. Our staff room is full of choice and it put a smile on many faces after a long day. Thanks again from all of us!!'
